On Saturday, August 18th, the Richland County Republican Party celebrated their annual summer Corn and Watermelon festival. This event raised money for local candidates and gave those candidates an opportunity to visit with their future constituents all while enjoying a wonderful picnic-style lunch. Our Richland County Women provided the desserts and some of the main meal. As always, no one went home hungry! Thank you to Bob Entenmann and Marv Krinskey for their donation of corn and watermelon again this year!
This year, state candidates visited the event as well. Frank LaRose, candidate for Ohio Secretary of State; Troy Balderson, candidate for Ohio’s 12th District; Mark Romanchuk, current Ohio District 2 Representative and candidate for the November election and Jim Renacci, candidate for Ohio’s federal Senate position all joined us.
We were also joined by many of Richland county’s elected leaders for our event. Thank you to everyone who came out!
Andrea Clark, winner of the Republican nomination to run on this November’s ballot for common pleas court judge, joined us and jumped in to help serve food to our attendees. Judge DeWeese will be retiring onĀ September 1, 2018, and his position will then be open. Andrea is running to complete his two-year unexpired term.
Finally, this year, our Richland County Young Republican members provided activities for the children who attended the Corn and Watermelon Festival. We look forward to having more young families join us at our events!
